Maritime Awareness, Redefined
The Barbanera Platform [Currently in Development] is an integrated maritime domain awareness and response system that bridges detection and action. Its Advanced Monitoring Layer continuously scans maritime zones for unauthorized activity, dark vessels, and environmental hazards. The Intelligence Layer applies AI-driven vessel tracking and anomaly detection to generate prioritized, actionable alerts. By connecting real-time insights to operational decision-making, Barbanera delivers end-to-end situational awareness and response coordination that no single approach can achieve alone.
THE TEAM
ZAID BALUSHI / FOUNDER & DIRECTOR - ORBITAL KINETICS BUREAU
Zaid is a seasoned Technical Program Manager with nearly a decade of experience orchestrating complex engineering programs across automotive and aerospace sectors, including Ford, Fiat-Chrysler and Fisker. At Etlaq Spaceport, he played a pivotal role in Oman’s historic first suborbital launch, Duqm-1. He brings deep expertise from the U.S. automotive sector, enabling OKB to deliver advanced program execution capabilities. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University.
YASSER SHARJI / CO-FOUNDER & HEAD OF OPS - ORBITAL KINETICS BUREAU
Yasser is a PMP-certified Architectural Engineer with extensive experience in large-scale national infrastructure projects. He currently serves as Project Engineer at Mwasalat Oman and spent six years with Bechtel Enka on Muscat International Airport, specializing in BIM coordination, design automation, and resident engineering. He holds a BS in Architectural Engineering from the Higher College of Technology, Muscat.
SUBASH CHELLAPPAN / TECHNICAL ADVISOR (LAUNCH ON DEMAND)
Subash is CTO at Launch On Demand, leading IT strategy, cloud acceleration, digital transformation, and cybersecurity for mission-critical space operations. He has held leadership roles at Deloitte Consulting and Jacobs, driving enterprise-scale digital transformation programs. Subash holds an MBA in Finance, Marketing, and Leadership & Change Management from NYU Stern, and a BS in Computer Science from Oklahoma City University.
